New custom V-mount

After the water issues I decided to go for a V-mount setup whichj many of the Japanese Time Attack cars run.

Using a thick core rad and thick core intercooler I have managed to reduce intake temps to a couple of degrees above ambient. Water temps are also very good since air is split between the rad and IC, rather than warm air being passed from the IC through the rad in a typical front mount application.

R-Spec Mazdaspeed bumper

Decided to try out a Mazdaspeed R-Spec rear bumper on the car.

Bonnet weight reduction

Decided to lighten my Scoot bonnet since its not that light compared to some of the other aftermarket alternatives, a few holes later and almost 1kg saved!

Engine back!

Engine dropped back in!

Water temp issues

After trying various things to reduce the water temps and bleed any air out of the system it was decided the only route to take was removing the engine and inspecting the internals. Jay and Stuart came out in the evening and worked like a pair of Ninja's to remove the block from the car.

Upon inspection Jay discovered that the rear rotor housing had a hairline crack along the leading spark holes thread! So the housing was replaced along with all side seals and springs. Now I just need to reinstall the engine and put a few miles on the engine to bed the new seals in.
